Professor David C. Gibson is the Director and UNESCO Chair of Data Science in Higher Education Learning and Teaching at Curtin University. He received his Doctorate in Leadership and Policy Studies (Ed.D.) from the University of Vermont in 1999, where he studied complex systems modeling of educational change. Dr. Gibson went on to create SimSchool, a classroom flight simulator designed to prepare educators.
He has advanced the use of technology to personalize learning through cognitive modeling, design, and practical application. In his current role as a professor at Curtin University, he teaches research design and methods in cross-disciplinary social science doctoral programs and has also co-taught at institutions such as the University of Vermont and Boise State University.
