Daphne Koller is an internationally recognized entrepreneur, computer scientist, and educational technology leader. She earned her Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Koller co-founded Coursera in 2012, which has become one of the world’s leading online learning platforms, offering courses, degrees, and professional certificates to millions of learners worldwide. In 2018, she founded insitro, a company at the intersection of machine learning and biomedicine, where she currently serves as CEO. Her research spans probabilistic reasoning, machine learning, and biomedical data, and she has authored more than 200 papers. One of her most influential works is Probabilistic Graphical Models: Principles and Techniques (2009), a widely cited textbook that shaped research in artificial intelligence. Koller has received major honors, including the ACM Prize in Computing and a MacArthur Fellowship. Her TED Talk, What we’re learning from online education, has been viewed by millions globally.
